Police in the Democratic Republic of Congo fired tear gas Thursday to break up demonstrators protesting alleged fraud in the voter rolls.
Hundreds of opposition supporters marched in the capital, Kinshasa to demand an audit of the election register.
They tried to reach the headquarters of Congo's National Election Commission but were dispersed by police. Chief of police Charles Bisengimana says at least one police officer was injured.
The election commission has rejected accusations of fraud.
Congo holds presidential and parliamentary elections in November. President Joseph Kabila is running for re-election against a divided opposition.
Kabila was elected president in the country's first democratic elections in 2006.
