Suspected Kurdish rebels killed two people and wounded at least eight others when they fired on policemen playing football in the Turkish city of Tuniceli.
The attack came a day after a clash in the same region killed two Turkish soldiers.
Also Sunday in Hakkari province near the Iraqi border, alleged Kurdish rebels killed two local militiamen who fight alongside regular Turkish forces against the insurgents.
The outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, has escalated attacks in recent weeks, while Turkish forces increased their airstrikes against suspected rebel bases in northern Iraq.
The PKK is fighting a nearly 30 year long guerrilla war for an independent Kurdistan and more civil and political rights for Kurds living in Turkey.
Turkey, the European Union, and United States regard the PKK as a terrorist group.
