Police in Sydney, Australia, say they are engaged in a standoff with a man who walked into legal offices with his daughter and claimed to be carrying a bomb.

A court clerk says the man came into the building complex, which also houses courtrooms, with a young girl. The clerk says the man demanded that she call the state attorney general's department and tell them he had a bomb in his backpack.

The man then walked off toward an upstairs lawyer's office with the girl, who addressed him as “Dad.”

Media outlets have published photos of the man looking down from a second floor window, shirtless and wearing a wig similar to those worn by Australian lawyers and judges. Several ambulances and fire-fighting trucks have been called to the scene.
