The western Canadian city of Vancouver has been rattled by a 6.4-magnitude earthquake.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake, which shook buildings and trees for about 30 seconds Friday. Experts warned there may be minor aftershocks but said they did not expect the quake to trigger a tsunami.
The U.S. geological survey said the tremor struck off the west coast of Vancouver Island at a depth of about 23 kilometers.
Residents across a wide area reported feeling the quake, including those in the cities of Vancouver, Victoria and as far south as Seattle, in the United States.
