The U.S. National Hurricane Center has downgraded Tropical Storm Nate to a tropical depression as it moved into Mexico Sunday with little impact.
Officials report no serious damage or injures after Nate made landfall in Veracruz, along the southern Mexican gulf coast, and weakened.
Forecasters cancelled tropical storm warnings and watches and say they expect the storm to break up Monday.
There is still no sign of 10 Mexican oil workers missing off the gulf coast since Thursday. The 10 evacuated their oil platform to escape Nate when it was still a tropical storm. The workers were lost when they abandoned their disabled lifeboat for a raft.
Meanwhile, forecasters are urging parts of the Caribbean, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, to keep an eye on Tropical Storm Maria.
Officials expect the storm to pass north of Puerto Rico Sunday night before turning north towards the Bahamas. There are currently no watches or warnings posted.
