An explosion at a nuclear site in southern France has killed one person and injured at least three others.
France's ASN nuclear safety agency says the blast Monday at the Marcoule nuclear installation in the city of Nimes happened near a furnace. Firefighters say a security perimeter has been set up around the area.
Marcoule is a nuclear waste management site.
An ASN spokesman says there is no indication of any radiation leak at this time.
No other information was immediately available.
