A minibus went off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Indian-controlled Kashmir Tuesday, killing at least 22 people.
Indian police say at least 15 people were injured in the accident in a mountainous region near Srinagar, the main town in Kashmir.
Police say the driver of the bus lost control while negotiating a sharp curve, and rolled down a cliff.
India suffers frequent road accidents due to reckless driving, poor vehicle maintenance and overcrowding.
Separately, a collision of two trains in southern India killed at least seven people and injured more than 70. The accident happened about 75 kilometers from the port city of Chennai, when one train slammed into another one standing stationary at a signal point.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
