U.S. stock indexes are mixed in early trading Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is off four-tenths of a percent, and the S&P 500 is down two-tenths of one percent. The NASDAQ is up two-tenths of a percent.
European stock prices are advancing in afternoon trading.
London's Financial Times index is ahead six-tenths of one percent. The CAC-40 in Paris is up seven-tenths of a percent, while the DAX index in Frankfurt has advanced 1.8 percent.
Earlier, Tokyo's Nikkei index gained nearly one percent to finish at 8,617.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was closed Tuesday.
Gold is trading up $7.43 at $1,822.68 an ounce.
The dollar is trading up against the euro, but down against the yen.
