A handful of Cambodian provinces along the Thai border have been inundated by floods triggered when rain water poured off a nearby mountain.

The water from Dang Rek mountain flooded at least four districts in Siem Reap province on Saturday before moving on Monday to Battambang and Oddar Meanchey provinces, where heavy rains along the Thai border made matters worse.

Residents in Siem Reap walked and motorcycled through flooded streets and fished off bridges spanning overflowing rivers. Officials dispatched heavy machinery to help drain the water from city streets.

There were no reports of casualties or severe damage.
