Big Losses on Japan’s Nikkei

Japanese markets closed lower Thursday, while the U.S. dollar is trading higher against the Japanese yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index lost just over two percent (181 points)) to finish at 8,560.

The dollar was selling at 76.75 yen, a gain of just over one-quarter of a yen from Wednesday.

The Taipei market ended Thursday's trading session at 7,305, a loss of just over three percent .
