U.S. President Barack Obama stops in Denver, Colorado, Tuesday as part of a national tour to promote a jobs bill and raise money for next year's campaign.

Mr. Obama is speaking at Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver. In recent weeks he has been urging Americans to pressure their congressmen to pass the $447 billion jobs bill. He is also seeking Congressional approval for a deficit reduction plan that he says will reduce unemployment.

The White House has released a video in which Denver Mayor Michael Hancock says elected officials should “put aside our differences” and put people back to work.

The president is concluding a three-day, five-city campaign tour during which he is expected to raise millions in donations ahead of a Friday quarterly fundraising deadline. He is scheduled to return to Washington late Tuesday.

With his approval ratings falling, Mr. Obama is employing a new aggressive tone on the campaign trail and has taken a firm stand against the strong opposition he continues to face from Republicans.
