Eight people are dead after a stampede on a docked ferry boat in Indonesia.
The tragedy happened Wednesday when a truck caught fire on the ferry and panicked passengers tried to escape.
Officials said eight people were fatally trampled in the stampede and dozens of others were injured.
The ferry was docked at the Tanjung Perak port in the East Java provincial capital of Surabay. It was scheduled to carry the passengers to the city of Banjarmasin on Borneo island.
Ferry accidents are common in Indonesia due to poor safety standards.
