Russia's ruling party, United Russia, says it has submitted its candidate list for the December parliament election to the national Central Election Commission.
One of the party leaders, Sergei Neverov says incumbent President Dmitry Medvedev is heading the list of 600 people. But he said the party has no plans to include President Medvedev in parliamentary debates before the December 4 poll.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin confirmed Saturday he will run for president in 2012 and Mr. Medvedev agreed to head the ruling party's list for the parliamentary elections.
United Russia is the country's largest party, holding about two-third of seats in parliament's 450-seat lower house, the State Duma.
The December 4 vote is expected to set the stage for next year's presidential election. If he wins, Prime Minister Putin will serve a third term as Russia's president.
