At least 15 people have been killed in a car bombing at a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in the Iraqi city of Hilla.

Local authorities and witnesses said the bomb exploded among a crowd of mourners attending a funeral at the mosque, 100 kilometers south of Baghdad. Hilla is mainly Shi'ite and on a route used by pilgrims visiting holy shrines in the region.

Several dozen people were reported injured.
