The technology company Apple has unveiled a highly anticipated new iPhone — this one with the ability to respond to spoken commands.
Replacing founder Steve Jobs for the first time at a product launch, Apple CEO Tim Cook presented the iPhone 4S Tuesday at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Cook said the new phone includes a feature allowing users to talk directly to their phones, asking for information or giving a command. The phone may answer queries for information with an Internet search.
The new device is also equipped with a higher-quality camera and the ability to synchronize information among different Apple devices, updating them all at once.
The new phone will eventually be available in 70 countries.
Tuesday's event was the first Apple product rollout since Apple founder and former CEO Steve Jobs stepped down over health concerns in August.
Jobs is one of the most well-recognized people in the technology industry, and his recent health struggles have sparked speculation about the company's future leadership.
