Two bombs have struck an oil pipeline in southern Iraq sparking a fire and temporarily halting production.

The attack occurred late Friday evening at the Rumaila oil field near the southern port city of Basra.

Officials say the blast damaged the pipeline, temporarily cutting production.

Rumaila is being developed by Britain's BP and China's CNPC.
