Italy’s defense ministry says British commandos have freed an Italian vessel that was hijacked off Somalia Monday. The MV Montecristo had been seized 1,000 kilometers off Somalia’s eastern coast, carrying a crew of 23. The company that owns the ship, the D’Alesio Group, said Tuesday that international “intervention units” were monitoring the situation.
