Japanese entertainment giant Sony says it has detected a large number of unauthorized attempts to access user accounts on its online entertainment networks.

The company says the attempts began Friday and lasted until Monday, with the intruders successfully accessing the sign-in IDs and passwords of 93,000 customer accounts. The attacks affected its PlayStation Network, Sony Entertainment Network and Sony Online Entertainment services.

Sony says credit card details associated with the accounts were not at risk, and that it has temporarily locked those accounts.

Sony sustained a major security breach in April, when cyberattackers obtained the personal data, including credit card information, of more than 100 million online account holders. The company temporarily shut down its PlayStation Network for a month.
