Gunmen have kidnapped at least two international aid workers from a huge Somali refugee complex in northern Kenya.

VOA's Somali Service has learned the workers, from the medical aid group Doctors Without Borders, were seized Thursday at the Dadaab refugee complex.

A journalist in Dadaab told VOA the two workers appear to be European and were taken from the recently-opened Ifo 3 camp.

Dadaab is home to more than 400,000 refugees from Somalia.

Kenyan authorities suspect the kidnappers may be Somali. The abduction follows the recent kidnappings of a French woman and a British tourist from Kenyan resorts near the Somali border.
