The Texas Rangers scored two runs in the final inning to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals in the second game of Major League Baseball’s World Series on Thursday in St. Louis, Missouri. The best of seven series is now tied at one game each.

Thursday’s contest was scoreless until the seventh inning, when St. Louis pinch-hitter Allen Craig delivered a crucial run-scoring single for the second night in a row.

But Texas countered with two runs in the ninth inning to win the game.

The series has so far been unexpectedly dominated by strong pitching by both teams, who are better known for their offensive abilities.

Game three will be played in Dallas, Texas on Saturday.

The Cardinals’ Allen Craig was the hero of game one, after coming through with a pinch-hit single to give St. Louis a 3-2 victory.
