Suspected militants have hurled grenades at security forces in Indian-controlled Kashmir, wounding three paramilitary police officers.

Authorities say the attacks took place within minutes of each other in Kashmir's main city of Srinagar.

Suspected rebels first threw grenades at a paramilitary camp, wounding the three members of the Central Reserve Police Force. A second attack at a nearby bus stop reportedly caused no injuries.

Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan and claimed in full by both.

Muslim separatists have been fighting for the Himalayan region's independence from Hindu-majority India or a merger with Muslim-majority Pakistan. Tens of thousands of people have been killed in the insurgency.
