India's Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna will travel to Japan later this week for a three-day visit aimed at boosting ties.

In a statement Tuesday, Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Krishna will arrive in Tokyo on Friday and leave on Sunday.

The statement said Krishna and his Japanese counterpart, Koichiro Gemba, will hold the fifth Japan-India Strategic Dialogue Saturday to exchange views on ties, as well as on the cooperation on regional and international issues.

The Japanese government said it welcomes Krishna's visit — his third to the country — which “would contribute to the further strengthening of the friendly relationship between the two countries.”
