Swiss police have announced that one person has been killed and 14 others injured in an explosion in an apartment building in the western city of Yverdon-les-Bains.

The cause of the blast Tuesday is still unknown.

Police say an investigation is under way.

Yverdon-les-Bains is less than 40 miles west of the Swiss capital of Bern.
