St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Ryan Freese came through with a game-winning solo home run in the 11th inning to cap a dramatic come-from-behind 10-9 victory over the Texas Rangers and force a decisive seventh game in Major Leage Baseball's World Series.
Freese delivered two crucial hits late in the game. With the Cardinals down to their last strike in the ninth inning, Freese hit a game-tying two-run triple just over the glove of Rangers rightfielder Nelson Cruz, sending the game to extra innings.
Josh Hamilton put Texas back on top with a two-run home run in the 10th inning. But the Cardinals came back in the bottom of the 10th to even the score on singles by Ryan Theriot and Lance Berkman.
Game seven of the championship series will be played Friday night in St. Louis.
