The lawyer for a gunman who shot at the U.S. embassy in Bosnia-Herzegovina, wounding a guard, says his client is delirious and acted alone.
Mevlid Jasarevic's lawyer said Sunday that Jasarevic is unaware of what he did. The attorney says he will seek a psychiatric examination for his client.
Jasarevic, a practitioner of Wahhabism, a conservative branch of Islam, opened fire at the U.S. embassy compound in Sarajevo Friday, sending people in the neighborhood scrambling for cover. He wounded an embassy guard before a policeman shot and arrested him.
Bosnian authorities say two other people suspected of having ties to Jasarevic also have been arrested, but they released no further details.
