Rain and floods swept through northwestern Italy Friday, leaving at least four people dead.

Authorities warned residents to stay indoors as water gushed through parts of the city of Genoa.

The floods came a week after rainstorms caused serious flooding in the northwestern regions of Tuscany and Liguria.

At least 10 people died in last week's flooding and resulting mudslides.
