Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe is reaching out to young voters in song.

The 87-year-old Mugabe just released a pop single criticizing British colonial rule.

The song is entitled “Toita Sei”, which translates into “What Shall We Do?”

Mr. Mugabe's song is getting considerable air play on radio, and the video for the single plays before news bulletins on television.

Mr. Mugabe has ruled Zimbabwe since the country gained independence in 1980.

He is seeking to extend his rule in next year's elections after winning disputed polls in 2008.

While President Mugabe is singing for support, a Zimbabwean group in London is using music to criticize and end the president's leadership.

The Zim Vigil Band performs protest songs outside Zimbabwe's High Commission in London each Saturday.

The group's two members say the performances will continue until Zimbabweans share their freedom.
