Liberia's top opposition leader has called for the annulment of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's re-election.

Winston Tubman told reporters in Monrovia Saturday a new election should be held within a month because Tuesday's vote was a fraud and he will not recognize President Sirleaf's win.

Tubman's remarks came a day after he said he was willing to work with Mrs. Sirleaf – Africa's first democratically elected female and her Unity Party.

He says lawyers for the Congress for Democratic change are looking at options on challenging the election.

Tubman boycotted Tuesday's vote, and the electoral commission confirmed President Sirleaf was the winner with more than 90 percent of the tally.

This is Liberia's second presidential election since the end of the country's civil war in 2003. Mrs. Sirleaf won the Nobel Peace prize this year for helping Liberia recover from the war.
