Officials in eastern Afghanistan say a roadside bomb blast has killed four children.

A Nangarhar province spokesman said the bomb exploded Friday, killing the four children and wounding six others.

Insurgents often plant roadside bombs to target Afghan security forces or international troops. The devices usually detonate when someone steps or drives over them.
