Pakistani officials say a NATO helicopter raid on a military checkpoint in northwest Pakistan has killed at least 14 troops and wounded seven others. Earlier, officials had reported eight troops killed.
A Pakistani military spokesman said the attack early Saturday in the Mohmand tribal area near the Afghan border was “unprovoked and indiscriminate.”
A NATO spokesman in Kabul says the international coalition is aware of an “incident” and would release more information after gathering more facts about what happened.
