At least 15 people were killed and more than 50 others injured in a warehouse explosion in Burma's largest city, Rangoon, early Thursday.

Witnesses report a loud explosion at a state-owned warehouse in an eastern Rangoon suburb. They said fire spread to nearby buildings.

It was not immediately clear what caused the blast.

Firefighters have been dispatched to the scene and are still searching for casualties.
