Bosnian Serbs have marked the 20th anniversary of the formation of their ministate within Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The anniversary was marked on Monday by receptions and a religious ceremony in the Bosnian-Serb capital, Banja Luka.
On January 9, 1992, Bosnian Serbs declared their own “Republika Srpska” in response to the drive by Bosnian Muslims and Croats towards independence from the then-Yugoslavia.
In the following months, Bosnians opted for independence in a referendum that was largely boycotted by the Serbs.
Republika Srpska, together with the Muslim-Croat Federation, makes up today's Bosnia.
