German prosecutors are asking for a sentence of life in prison for a Kosovo Albanian man who has admitted killing two U.S. airmen at the Frankfurt airport last year.
Twenty-one-year-old Arid Uka faces two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder for wounding two other airmen and firing at a third.
In closing arguments Monday, federal prosecutors said Uka should remain in prison for the maximum sentence because of the severity of the crime.
Uka confessed to the attacks at the opening of his trial, saying he was motivated by Islamist websites calling for jihad against American military forces.
A verdict is expected on January 19.
