Russian officials say a gas explosion and fire at a restaurant in Moscow has killed two people and injured at least 26 others.

The explosion at an Italian restaurant Monday tore through the kitchen of the restaurant and quickly engulfed the three-story building in southern Moscow.

Investigators say the fire is believed to have been caused by the exploding gas canister.
