A helicopter belonging to international military forces in Afghanistan crashed in the country's south Thursday, killing six NATO service members.

A spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan announced the accident early Friday and said there was no insurgent activity reported in the area when the helicopter went down.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
