In South Africa, the embattled youth leader of the ruling African National Congress is expected to learn Saturday if his appeal of a suspension from the party will be successful.
The ANC's disciplinary committee is scheduled to announce a ruling on an appeal by Julius Malema of his five-year suspension for fomenting dissent within the party.
Last year, party officials found Malema and four other youth leaders guilty of sowing division within the ANC.
The other leaders are also appealing their suspensions on grounds they were not given a chance to challenge the party's ruling before the sentence was handed down.
If the appeal fails, Malema and his colleagues might seek redress in court.
