China’s embassy in Brazzaville said Monday that six Chinese were killed and dozens more were injured in Sunday’s ammunition depot explosions in the Republic of Congo capital.

The official Xinhua news agency quoted Chinese officials as saying the victims worked for the Beijing Construction Engineering Group. About 140 Chinese employees were at the construction site when the explosions went off.

The embassy said some of the Chinese workers suffered serious injuries. It said one worker is still missing.

The Chinese workers were among about 200 people killed and another 200 injured in the explosions at an arms facility on the banks of the Congo River.
