The Republic of Congo is holding a mass burial Sunday for more than 200 victims of the multiple explosions at a military base one week ago.

President Dennis Sassou-Ngueso is expected to join the mourners.

The fire and explosions at the arms facility, located on the banks of Congo River just outside the capital, Brazzaville, also wounded more than 200 people and left at least 7,000 homeless.

The blasts flattened roofs and sent dark black smoke into the sky.

The explosions also rattled Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, across the Congo River from Brazzaville.
