A series of explosions and bursts of gunfire were heard in Afghanistan's capital Sunday.

The attacks in Kabul seem to be concentrated in or near the city's heavily guarded diplomatic area.

Witnesses say smoke could be seen billowing from buildings and sirens could be heard throughout the neighborhood.

Reports of gunfire are also emerging from other parts of the capital.
