The horse, I'll Have Another, has surged past Bodemeister in the final furlong to win the Kentucky Derby.
The 3-year-old colt gave jockey Mario Gutierrez a victory Saturday on his debut at Churchill Downs. The colt went off at 15-1 odds.
I'll Have Another, owned by J. Paul Reddam, finished the race in 2:01.83 in front of a record crowd of more than 165,000 people.
Bodemeister, which started as the 4-1 favorite, finished second after leading for most of the 2,000-meter race. Dullahan was third in the 20-horse field.
Union Rags, the favorite at 9-2 odds, came in seventh.
The Kentucky Derby is the first of the trio of races that make up the Triple Crown, along with the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
