Police in Nepal say a plane carrying 21 people has crashed in the country's northern Himalayas, killing at least 9 people.
The Associated Press reports that authorities have flown at least four survivors of Monday's crash to the nearby city of Pokhara for treatment.
The plane went down at an area known as a popular trekking destination for tourists visiting the famous mountain range.
Plane crashes in the mountainous country are not uncommon. VOA has reported on three other crashes within the past two years.
