Indian authorities have banned Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan from a cricket stadium in the western city of Mumbai after he got in an argument with security guards.

The Mumbai Cricket Association announced the five-year ban on Friday and condemned the the actor's behavior.

MCA President Vilasrao Deshmukh said Khan “without any provocation, hurled abuses at the MCA officials, manhandled the security guards,” when they tried to stop him from entering the Wankhede stadium grounds Wednesday. Deshmukh said the actor had “no regrets of his action and behavior.”

Khan has denied reports he was drunk when he went to go pick up his children after an Indian Premier League match on Wednesday. He told reporters on Thursday that he became angry when officials at the stadium began pushing children, including his own, who were playing near the field.

Khan co-owns an IPL team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, which was playing the Mumbai Indians that night.
