Officials in eastern Afghanistan say a NATO air strike has killed a family of eight.
A provincial government spokesman says a man, his wife, and six children were killed Saturday night in a coalition airstrike in the Gerda Serai district of Paktia province.
NATO says it is aware of reports of the incident and is investigating.
Civilian casualties have been a major source of friction between President Hamid Karzai's government and the U.S.-led NATO forces in Afghanistan.
