The National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings are one game away from their first Stanley Cup championship in the team's 45-year history after posting a a 4-0 shutout win over the visiting New Jersey Devils Monday.
In the first Stanley Cup finals game held in Los Angeles since 1993, Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick made 22 saves for his third shutout of the postseason, while teammates Anze Kopitar, Alec Martinez, Jeff Carter and Justin Williams all scored against Devils' goalie Martin Brodeur, a future NHL Hall-of-Famer.
Los Angeles, which entered the playoffs as the eighth-seeded team, now has a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup finals, and could complete the historic sweep over New Jersey, a past Stanley Cup champion, Wednesday at the Staples Center home ice.
