Rain halted play in the men's final of the French Open Sunday between six-time champion Rafael Nadal of Spain and world number one tennis player Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
Organizers said the match, already in progress for three hours, would resume Monday at 1:00 pm local time .
Nadal was leading Djokovic two sets to one when organizers suspended the game at 6:50 pm local time after the two played under a light drizzle for much of the match, which also included a 34-minute interruption in the second set.
Spaniard Nadal won the first two sets 6-4 and 6-3 and was leading 2-0 in the third, when Djokovic won eight games in a row to win the third set 6-2 and lead 2-1 in the fourth when the match was stopped.
Whoever wins on Monday will make history. Nadal is going for his record seventh Roland Garros title, while Djokovic is trying to become the first man in 43 years to win four straight Grand Slam tournaments.
