Egypt's state news agency reported Tuesday that former president Hosni Mubarak, serving a life prison sentence, suffered a stroke and prison authorities said he was likely to be moved to a hospital.
State TV said the 84-year-old Mubarak was in critical condition after his “heart stopped” and doctors used a defibrillator to restart it.
Mubarak was sentenced to the life term earlier this month for failing to stop the killing of protesters during last year's uprising that ousted him from power.
