Russian officials say at least 45 people have been killed and thousands have been affected by floods after torrential rains in the south of the country.
Authorities said Saturday that storms, floods and a landslide have affected the southern Krasnodarsky Krai region after two days of rains.
The Reuters news agency reports that Novorossiisk, Russia's largest Black Sea port, halted crude oil shipments on Saturday because of the storm.
A government spokesman said police are stepping up their presence in the region to prevent mass looting.
