Pakistani officials say a roadside bomb has exploded in the country's northwestern tribal region, killing at least 11 people.

The blast Wednesday struck a vehicle in Orakzai, one of the districts in the area along the Afghan border that is a known hub for Taliban- and al-Qaida-linked militants.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
