Bradley Wiggins has won cycling's prestigious Tour de France, the first Briton to capture the championship in the 109-year history of the grueling race.
The 32-year-old Wiggins, already a triple Olympic gold medalist, wore the leader's yellow jersey and raised his arms in victory as he crossed the finish line during Sunday's final ride into Paris along the Champs-Elysees.
Wiggins sealed his championship on Saturday with a dominating performance in the second-to-last stage of the race. His win marked a distinct comeback from last year's event, when he crashed and suffered a broken collarbone.
Fellow Briton Christopher Froome finished second, the first time since 1984 that riders from the same country captured the top two spots.
