Turkish security forces on Sunday fired in the air and used tear gas to put down a riot in a Syrian refugee camp near the Turkish-Syrian border.
Turkish media say at least seven refugees and officers were hurt.
Fighting also was reported at a second camp farther south.
More than 43,000 Syrians have taken refuge in Turkey.
Tension among the refugees is growing, as daytime temperatures soar as high as 40 degrees Celsius and the refugees experience shortages of food, water and housing.
The U.S. State Department has said Turkey — along with Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon — has been “generous” in helping Syrians who have fled their country.
